California Code, Public Contract Code - PCC § 10383

The Department of General Services is hereby designated as the agency for the State of California responsible for distribution of federal surplus personal property, excepting food commodities, in accordance with subdivision (j) of Section 203 of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C. Sec. 484),   1 as amended, and succeeds to and is vested with the duties, purposes, responsibilities, and jurisdiction heretofore exercised by the State Department of Education with respect to the distribution of federal surplus personal property, excepting the duties, purposes, responsibilities, and jurisdiction exercised by the State Department of Education with respect to the distribution of federal surplus food commodities.
