(a) The commission may carry out spiny lobster fishery industry educational programs with respect to proper methods of handling and preserving the quality of spiny lobster to protect the public health, the economic viability of the spiny lobster fishery, and employee and fisherman safety and may conduct market surveys and analyses.
(b) The commission may carry out public information programs regarding, but not limited to, the condition of and efforts to sustain the spiny lobster resource and other programs to promote the spiny lobster fishery. Commission moneys shall not be expended to advertise brand-name spiny lobster products except when conducted on a generic basis.
(c) The commission may adopt a spiny lobster fishery logo or trademark or other promotional tools consistent with this chapter and other applicable laws.
