California Code, Food and Agricultural Code (Formerly Agricultural Code) - FAC § 21706

Any invoice of sale or bill of sale which has been altered, defaced or changed is void. An inspector may, however, indicate on a bill of sale any number of cattle which are sold by the holder of the bill of sale, if he initials and dates such alterations on the bill of sale.
