The director may deposit any youth's monies in the director's possession in a separate account of the department of juvenile corrections fund established by § 41-2810 or, subject to the approval of the state treasurer, deposit such monies in interest bearing bank accounts. On notice from the director, youths' monies deposited in the juvenile corrections fund shall be invested pursuant to § 35-313. Any proceeds from investments or deposits shall be credited to the department of juvenile corrections youths' account.
