A.Sections 38-608, 38-609, 38-610 and 38-613 relating to all public officers and employees apply to district board members and district officers and employees. Except as otherwise provided in subsection B, the other provisions of title 38, chapter 4 1 relating to public officers and employees of this state do not apply to district board members or district officers or employees.
B. The district board may permit a member, member-elect, officer or employee to travel within or without the state for a community college district purpose and receive reimbursement for lodging and subsistence and transportation expenses according to the procedures and amounts established by the district board as long as the reimbursement rates do not exceed the maximum amounts established pursuant to § 38-623 and § 38-624, subsection C.
C. The district board may pay for the traveling, lodging and other travel related expenses of candidates for employment with the district according to the policies and procedures established by the district board.
