(a) A pharmacist licensed under § 30-5-1 et seq. of this code may dispense a self-administered hormonal contraceptive: (1) pursuant to a standing prescription drug order made in accordance with § 16-58-4 of this code without any other prescription drug order from a person licensed to prescribe a self-administered hormonal contraceptive; (2) in accordance with the dispensing guidelines in § 16-58-6 of this code; and (3) to a patient who is 18 years old or older.
(b) All state and federal laws governing insurance coverage of contraceptive drugs, devices, products, and services shall apply to self-administered contraceptives dispensed by a pharmacist under a standing order pursuant to this section.
