Within 5 days after the election or appointment of any village officer the village clerk shall notify the person so selected thereof, and every person elected or appointed to any office named in s. 61.19 shall within 5 days after notice of election or appointment take and file the official oath, except that an elected assessor shall take and file the official oath within 5 days before June 1.
