The department shall designate the route of STH 35 from the village of Ferryville in Crawford County to the city of Prairie du Chien in Crawford County as the “Governor Patrick Lucey Highway” in recognition and appreciation of Patrick J. Lucey, who served with distinction as both the governor of Wisconsin from 1971 to 1977 and as the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico from 1977 to 1979. The department shall mark this route, by erecting and maintaining appropriate signs, to clearly identify to motorists the route as the “Governor Patrick Lucey Highway.”
