(a) The board may impose a tax at a rate not to exceed 25 cents on each $100 valuation of taxable property in the district to pay the cost of maintaining district property and operating the district.
(b) An election to authorize the imposition of the tax must be called by the board in the manner provided by Section 6611.204. (Acts 61st Leg., R.S., Ch. 11, Sec. 10 (part).)
