(a) A construction contract that involves the expenditure of more than $50,000 shall be procured in the manner provided by Subchapter B, Chapter 271, Local Government Code.
(b) A contract for a purchase that involves the expenditure of more than $50,000, other than a contract subject to Subchapter B, Chapter 271, Local Government Code, or Chapter 2253, Government Code, shall be procured in the manner provided by Subchapter C, Chapter 262, Local Government Code.
(c) The provisions of Chapter 2253, Government Code, relating to performance and payment bonds, apply to construction contracts let by the district. (Acts 64th Leg., R.S., Ch. 658, Sec. 11(b).)
