Texas Special District Local Laws Code - SDLL § 1088.053. Qualifications for Office

(a) A person may not be elected or appointed as a director unless the person is:

(1) a resident of the district; and

(2) a qualified voter.

(b) A director elected from a commissioners precinct is not required to be a resident of that commissioners precinct. (Acts 65th Leg., R.S., Ch. 29, Secs. 5(a) (part), (c).)
