(a) On receipt of an application and fee under Section 602.203, the medical board may waive any prerequisite for obtaining a license to a person who holds a license to practice medical or radiological physics in another state, territory, or jurisdiction acceptable to the medical board that has requirements for the licensing of medical or radiological physicists that are substantially the same as the requirements of this chapter.
(b) The medical board may waive any prerequisite for obtaining a license to practice medical physics in this state for an applicant who holds a license issued by another jurisdiction with which this state has a reciprocity agreement. The medical board may make an agreement, subject to the approval of the governor, with another state to allow for licensing by reciprocity.
