(a) The commission shall require a peace officer to complete the following emergency response management training courses, or a substantially similar successor course as determined by the commission, in collaboration with the Texas Division of Emergency Management:
(1) Introduction to the Incident Command System; and
(2) National Incident Management System, An Introduction.
(b) The commission shall require an officer to complete the training courses described by Subsection (a) unless the officer has completed the training under Section 1701.253(u).
