Texas Local Government Code - LOC GOV'T § 326.004. District Authorization

(a) A library district may be created and must be maintained, operated, and financed as provided by this chapter.

(b) A district created under this chapter is a governmental agency, body politic and corporate, and political subdivision of the state.
