Texas Government Code - GOV'T § 51.311. Special Deputy District Clerk in Lubbock and Nueces Counties

(a) In Lubbock and Nueces counties, the district clerk shall appoint, at the request of a district judge, a special deputy district clerk to serve that judge's court.
(b) The salary of a special deputy clerk appointed under this section shall be paid out of the general fund of the county.
