The commission may allow a state agency employee who provides fire protection to attend fire protection training programs conducted under Subchapter B, 1 including an employee who is not regulated under Section 419.083. The commission may authorize reimbursement for a state agency's costs under this section as authorized by the legislature, whether or not the agency is regulated under Section 419.083.
