(a) The commissioner shall order any detachments and annexations of property under this subchapter not later than November 8 of each year.
(a-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), for the 2025-2026 school year, the commissioner shall order any detachments and annexations of property under this subchapter as soon as practicable after the canvass of the votes on the constitutional amendment proposed by S.J.R. 2, 89th Legislature, Regular Session, 2025. This subsection expires September 1, 2026.
(a-2) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), for the 2025-2026 school year, the commissioner shall order any detachments and annexations of property under this subchapter as soon as practicable after the canvass of the votes on the constitutional amendment proposed by S.J.R. 85, 89th Legislature, Regular Session, 2025. This subsection expires September 1, 2026.
(b) As soon as practicable after issuing the order under Subsection (a), the commissioner shall notify each affected school district and the appraisal district in which the affected property is located of the determination.
