Texas Education Code - EDUC § 105.052. Term of Office; Removal; Vacancy

The term of office of each regent is six years, with the terms of three regents expiring every two years. Members of the board may be removed from office for inefficiency or malfeasance of office. Any vacancy that occurs on the board shall be filled by the governor for the unexpired term.
