(a) In prescribing requirements for continuing education as a prerequisite for licensure renewal under § 62-27-105, the commissioner shall, at a minimum:
(1) Define the basic requirements to be no less than twenty-four (24) credit hours every two (2) years in polygraph;
(2) Delineate qualifying programs; and
(3) Establish a system of control and reporting.
(b) The commissioner may extend the time within which licensees under this chapter are required to comply with continuing education requirements for reasons of poor health, military service or other reasonable and just causes.
