(a) The general assembly finds and declares that:
(1) A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame, Brenda Lee was just thirteen (13) years of age when she recorded the Christmas classic “Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree” in 1958;
(2) At seventy-eight (78) years of age, Brenda Lee released a new video in 2023, wherein she dances around a Christmas tree to celebrate the song's sixty-fifth anniversary;
(3) Brenda Lee's “Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree” has now been the number one (1) song at Christmas in each of the past three (3) years, holding down the top spot for two (2) straight weeks in December 2021, and four (4) days in 2022; and
(4) In 2023, Brenda Lee's Christmas song “Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree” remains the most-played Christmas song during the Christmas holiday season as of November 12-19, 2023.
(b) The official holiday song of this state is “Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee. The secretary of state shall include this song, as so designated, in the Tennessee Blue Book.
