(a) The department of children’s services shall submit quarterly written reports to the chair of the government operations committee of the senate and the chair of the government operations committee of the house of representatives during 2023 to provide updates on the department’s progress in addressing the findings set forth in the December 2022 performance audit report issued by the division of state audit. Such reports must be received by the chairs no later than fourteen (14) calendar days from the end of each quarter.
(b) The department of children’s services shall appear before the education, health, and general welfare joint evaluation committee no later than June 30, 2023, to present information included in the department’s six-month follow-up report that is submitted to the comptroller of the treasury, as required under § 8-4-109.
