Rhode Island General Laws Title 42. State Affairs and Government § 42-140-11. Electric vehicle charging stations operating and maintenance fund

(a) There is established a restricted receipt account within the general fund of the state, to be known as the “electric vehicle charging stations operating and maintenance account”, to be administered by the office of energy resources for the purposes of installing, operating, and maintaining electric vehicle charging stations on state properties.

(b) Effective January 1, 2025, the office of energy resources shall establish electric vehicle charging station fees for electric vehicle charging stations operating on state properties.

(c) The office of energy resources shall post the proposed charging station fees on its website and solicit public comment for a period of thirty (30) days.

(d) Funds deposited into the electric vehicle charging stations operating and maintenance account shall be exempt from the indirect cost recovery provisions of § 35-4-27.
