Rhode Island General Laws Title 41. Sports, Racing, and Athletics § 41-4-1. Meets at which betting authorized--Types of mutuels

(a) The division of gaming and athletics licensing may permit at racing events, licensed under the provisions of chapter 3 of this title, betting under pari-mutuel system, so-called, or auction mutuel system, so-called, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.

(b) Events run under Class A shall be conducted under the pari-mutuel system only.

(c) Events run under Classes B, C, and E shall be conducted under the pari-mutuel or auction mutuel system as the division may determine.
