(a) The division of motor vehicles shall suspend or revoke the license of a juvenile to operate a motor vehicle whenever the family court shall recommend the suspension or revocation, for any period of time as shall be recommended by the family court.
(b) The license of any chauffeur or operator of a motor vehicle shall be suspended by the division of motor vehicles for a period fixed by any court of the state, not exceeding six (6) months, after final conviction for wilfully evading or attempting to evade an order to stop by a uniformed police officer operating a marked police vehicle, as provided in § 31-27-4.
