Rhode Island General Laws Title 28. Labor and Labor Relations § 28-36-5. Policy provisions as to liability of employer and insurer

Every policy shall cover the entire liability of the employer under chapters 29 -- 38 of this title, except for appeals from an order of the retirement board filed pursuant to the provisions of § 45-21.2-9, and shall contain an agreement by the insurer to the effect that the insurer shall be directly and primarily liable to the employee and, in the event of his or her death, to his or her dependents, to pay to him, her, or them the compensation, if any, for which the employer is liable.
