A township entering into a contract for the supply of water may, by ordinance, provide, regulate and protect a system of water distribution after filing a certified copy of the plans and surveys for the system, with a description of the sources from which it is proposed to derive the supply, with the Department of Environmental Protection and, if required by law, other Federal or State entities, and written permits for the construction of the system are issued in accordance with existing law.
