Pennsylvania Statutes Title 72 P.S. Taxation and Fiscal Affairs § 1721-B. Department of Corrections

(1) From the appropriation to the Department of Criminal Justice for general government operations under the General Appropriation Act of 2021, no less than $1,750,000 shall be used by the Department of Corrections for nonnarcotic medication substance use disorder treatment, which may include the establishment and administration of a nonnarcotic medication assisted substance abuse treatment grant program.

(2) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, for the purposes of any program funded under paragraph (1) and established under 61 Pa.C.S. Ch. 46 (relating to nonnarcotic medication assisted substance abuse treatment grant pilot program), the term “eligible offender” means a defendant or inmate convicted of a criminal offense who will be committed to the custody of the county and who meets the clinical criteria for an opioid or alcohol use disorder as determined by a physician.
