Whenever the Board of Pardons shall request information and advice relative to any application for a pardon or commutation of sentence from the judge who tried and sentenced the applicant, or the district attorney or assistant district attorney who prosecuted him or her, or from the district attorney in office at the date of the application, it shall be the duty of such judge, district attorney or assistant district attorney promptly to comply with such request.
