Whereas, By authority of the act of the general assembly approved the fourth day of May, Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, 1 the governor was authorized to appoint three persons as commissioners to represent this commonwealth, and acting in conjunction with a like number of persons appointed as commissioners to represent the state of Delaware, were as a commission representing the two states authorized to re-survey and re-establish the boundary line that separates the commonwealth of Pennsylvania from the state of Delaware, and to mark or indicate the location of such boundary line by the erection of enduring monuments.
