The department shall have power and authority, with the approval of the Governor, to acquire title in the name of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to any additional lands or interest in lands which may be required for the corporate purposes of the Authority, and payment therefor shall be made by the department. The power hereby conferred upon the department shall not limit or restrict the power of the Authority itself to acquire lands or interests in lands in the name of the Authority.
