(a) Examinations shall be held at least four times a year in the metropolitan areas of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Scranton, Harrisburg and Erie, at such hours as the board shall prescribe.
(b) The bureau, after consultation with the board, shall contract with a professional testing organization for the preparation and administration of the written and practical examinations in accordance with section 812.1(a) of the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L. 177, No. 175), 1 known as “The Administrative Code of 1929.” In addition to the requirements of section 812.1(a), the testing organization shall provide for proctors and testing support staff.
