(a) Radiation protection.--In addition to the powers and duties provided for in this act, the department shall have the powers conferred and duties imposed under applicable provisions of the act of July 10, 1984 (P.L. 688, No. 147), 1 known as the Radiation Protection Act and regulations promulgated under that act.
(b) Certification exemption.--The department shall be exempt from the requirements for certification as provided under sections 4, 5 and 6. 2
