An empty trip shall be hoisted in any shaft or slope where the engine has been standing idle for one hour or more, before men are hoisted or lowered in said shafts or slopes, and no person or persons shall ascend or descend any shaft or slope when working on the night turn until one trip shall first be hoisted therein.
