In honor of Senator Hubert H. Humphrey, Jr., who was born on May 27, 1911, May 27 of each year is hereby designated as “Hubert H. Humphrey Day” and is set aside to commemorate the birth of Hubert H. Humphrey, Jr. The Governor is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation each year calling upon the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to commemorate the life and the service to his country and its citizens of Senator Hubert H. Humphrey, Jr., and to observe that day with appropriate honors, ceremonies and prayers, with notification to surviving members of the Humphrey family and the members of the General Assembly.
