No insurer or director, officer or employe of an insurer may have any interest in a purchasing group doing business in this Commonwealth. Prohibited interest includes, but is not limited to, soliciting members for the purchasing group and belonging to the purchasing group as a member, provided that nothing in this section will prohibit a purchasing group composed entirely of insurers or directors, officers or employes of insurers if coverage is obtained from a company not related to the group members.
