The said court shall also have authority not only on said petition, to change or vacate the whole or any part of the said road which has become useless, inconvenient, or burdensome, but shall have authority also, whenever requested in and by said petition, to lay a new road, in the manner provided under existing laws, located in whole or in part in any one or more of the townships mentioned in the first section of this act; 1 said new road to take the place of the said road which has become useless, inconvenient, or burdensome.
