Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, persons who, as of December 31, 2000, were enrolled in the PACE program established pursuant to the act of August 14, 1991 (P.L. 342, No. 36), 1 known as the former Lottery Fund Preservation Act, shall remain eligible for the PACE program if the maximum income limit is exceeded due solely to a Social Security cost-of-living adjustment. Any person whose PACE eligibility has been terminated for this cause shall be retroactively reinstated commencing on the effective date of this section. Eligibility in the PACE program pursuant to this section shall expire on December 31, 2002.
