(a) General rule.--A patient may designate a lay caregiver in an advanced directive.
(b) Construction.--Nothing in this act shall be construed to interfere with the rights of an agent operating under a valid advanced directive pursuant to the provisions under 20 Pa.C.S. Ch. 54 (relating to health care). 1
