Pennsylvania Statutes Title 32 P.S. Forests, Waters and State Parks § 178. Purchase at tax sales for forest or game purposes

The Department of Forests and Waters  1 and the Board of Game Commissioners  2 are hereby authorized to purchase, in the name of the Commonwealth, seated or unseated lands at any tax sale held by any county treasurer when it is deemed advantageous for the Commonwealth to acquire such lands for State forest purposes for reforestation or for game purposes.

1 The powers and duties conferred upon the Department of Forests and Waters by this statute have been transferred to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. See 71 P.S. § 1340.302.
2 The Board of Game Commissioners is now the Pennsylvania Game Commission. See 34 Pa.C.S.A. § 301.
