Approved private schools and chartered schools for the deaf and blind shall have the authority to apply for emergency permits through the Department of Education pursuant to the criteria for eligibility established under 22 Pa. Code § 49.31 (relating to criteria for eligibility) as if the teachers were employed by a public school entity, provided that all other conditions for obtaining an emergency permit are met.
