The secretary of each board of school directors, or such other person as is directed by the board, shall, at or before the opening of the school term, furnish to the principal or teacher of each school a correct list of the names and residences of all children, assigned to such school, who are subject to the provisions of this act. 1 The secretary or other person shall also forward, on or before the first day of October of each year, to the county or district superintendent, to be by him forwarded, on or before the first day of November of each year, to the Superintendent of Public Instruction, 2 a summary of such statistics regarding the children in each district, as is required by the Superintendent of Public Instruction, on blanks provided by him for that purpose.
