In each county of the Commonwealth, the county superintendent of schools shall be provided, at the expense of the county, with telephone service, typewriters, stenographers, equipment, and materials, used in the performance of their duties, either in connection with pupils or teachers, and such office equipment, facilities, and suitable space, as shall be determined by the county superintendent and approved by the county board of school directors.
