The county commissioners of each county may buy or lease land and construct and maintain thereon, at the expense of the county, a morgue for the reception and care of the bodies of all unclaimed deceased persons upon whom it may be necessary to hold a coroner's inquest and such other bodies as the coroner of the county may, by written order, direct to be received therein. The location of such morgue shall be determined by the county commissioners, subject to the approval of the coroner of the county.
