(a) Repealed by 1982, Nov. 26, P.L. 748, No. 204, § 2, imd. effective.
(b) Each employe of any single-county department of health may join the retirement system of the county by which such department was created, except in counties of the second class wherein such employe shall be a member of the county employes' retirement system in the manner authorized by the act of July twenty-eight, one thousand nine hundred fifty-three (Pamphlet Laws 723), known as the “Second Class County Code”, and its amendments. 1
(c) Each employe of any joint-county department of health may join the retirement system of any county participating in the creation of the joint-county department of health. The participating counties shall pay to the retirement fund of the system joined by the employe the amount the county would be required to pay if the employe were a county employe.
(d) Any employe of a municipality who is a member of the retirement system established by the municipality who shall be employed by a county department of health, except in counties of the second class, may retain his membership in the retirement system of the municipality by which he was previously employed.
(e) The single-county department of health or joint-county department of health shall deduct from the employe's salary the amount of such employe's contribution to the pension or retirement fund of the pension or retirement system joined by the employe and pay the amount thereof to the pension or retirement fund. In counties of the second class, the employe's contribution as paid into the retirement fund shall be made in the manner authorized by the act of July twenty-eight, one thousand nine hundred fifty-three (Pamphlet Laws 723), known as the “Second Class County Code”, and its amendments.
