It is hereby declared to be the true intent and meaning of the 42d section of the act of the 15th of April, 1834, entitled “An act relating to counties and townships and county and township officers,” 1 that the commissions of county treasurers upon moneys received by them, and which may be or have been paid into the State Treasury agreeably to law, shall be computed and allowed upon the gross amount received annually on each of the separate accounts which they are or may be required to keep, and not upon the half yearly payments which they are required to make of certain revenue received by them.
