(a) Duty.--
(1) Upon application by the head of a State agency, each county officer shall furnish information and copies of records or documents contained in the respective offices as the head of the agency determines may be necessary or pertinent to the work of the department.
(2) The county furnishing information under paragraph (1) shall receive reasonable compensation as may be determined by the Auditor General. The compensation shall be paid to the county by the State Treasurer, out of money not otherwise appropriated, upon warrant from the Auditor General.
(b) Department of Community and Economic Development.--Each county officer shall furnish to the Department of Community and Economic Development any information requested by the Department of Community and Economic Development.
