Whenever the commissioners of any county deem it unnecessary to continue the operation of any school or schools established pursuant to this act, the commissioners may, by ordinance or resolution, terminate operation thereof and dispose of all or any part of the school property in the manner prescribed by law. Upon such cessation of the operation of any such school, the terms of office and the powers and duties of the board of managers of the school shall terminate.
