A person 12 to 15 years of age with a boating safety certificate may operate a motorboat with an engine of 10 horsepower or less. In addition, a person 12 to 15 years of age with a boating safety certificate may operate a motorboat with an engine greater than 10 horsepower if accompanied by and under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian or responsible person 16 years of age or older who possesses a boating safety certificate.
