The rules in justice courts governing mistakes in pleadings and amendments thereof, vacating defaults and judgments for mistake, inadvertence, surprise or excusable neglect, the formation of issues of both law and fact, the postponing of trials for cause shown, the mode of trial, the formation of the jury, the conduct and manner of trial by jury or by the justice without a jury, the procedure regarding the verdict and judgment and the enforcement thereof by execution shall be as prescribed for civil actions in the circuit courts, except as otherwise provided.
