In addition to the authority granted under ORS 190.003 to 190.130, when authorized by the Environmental Quality Commission and the Oregon Health Authority, the Director of the Department of Environmental Quality and the Director of the Oregon Health Authority may contract on behalf of their respective agencies for the purposes of carrying out the functions of either agency, defining areas of responsibility, furnishing services or employees by one to the other and generally providing cooperative action in the interests of public health and the quality of the environment in Oregon. Each contracting agency is directed to maintain liaison with the other and to cooperate with the other in all matters of joint concern or interest.
